Primary Contact Responsibilities

The Nori Regenerative Tonne agreement is signed by Nori and the Primary Contact, the individual assuming liability for the project in the Nori marketplace, and is valid for ten years. A new Nori Regenerative Tonne agreement is signed each time Regenerative Tonnes (RTs) are issued. The Primary Contact is agreeing to:

  1. Maintaining regenerative farming practices for ten years By signing this contract, you are stating that you will make best efforts to maintain regenerative farming practices for 10 years after RT issuance. Nori recognizes that responsible land managers might occasionally release carbon in response to unanticipated extreme natural events.

  2. Updating your Nori Project When the RT agreement is signed, the Primary Contact accepts the obligation to update the Nori Project data template annually and have the data verified at least once every three years, over the 10-year term.

  3.  Verifying project once every three years at minimum (more frequent if desired). While verification is required every three years, being issued new RTs following this verification event is not (requires a new 10-year agreement). RT issuance always corresponds with a new 10-year RT agreement effective at the date of issuance.

  4. The ability to sell up to 85% of your projects RTs in a different marketplace If you elect to sell your verified carbon removal credits in a different marketplace, you have the right to retire up to 85% of the Nori Regenerative Tonnes and sell the underlying carbon removal credit in a separate marketplace. Nori will, however, charge a 15% transaction fee on the retired, unsold RTs For the first six years of the contract, 15 percent of all Regenerative Tonnes generated must be sold on the Nori marketplace. After year six, all RTs may be retired from the Nori marketplace.
