Eligibility for the Nori Program
Background on Nori
Nori is a Seattle based company composed of folks with backgrounds in engineering, economics, agronomy, science, and blockchain architecture. We’ve come together around the common goal of building a voluntary carbon removal marketplace. This marketplace will monetize carbon dioxide (CO2) that is removed from the atmosphere when the recovered carbon is retained in a terrestrial reservoir (natural or manmade) - known as carbon capture or carbon sequestration.
We built this marketplace with Nori’s "US Croplands Methodology." This program will award CO2 removal and retention to US growers (also referred to in the Nori market as “Suppliers”) who have recently adopted agronomic conservation practices -- often referred to as "regenerative" practices -- that sequester carbon. Nori rewards the adoption of these practices by issuing a Nori Carbon Regenerative Tonne (RT). This RT is a sellable asset that represents an incremental tonne of CO2 removed from the atmosphere and sequestered in the soil.
